RATES

Square Inch Price

My pricing starts at 2 cents per square inch for normal density.

Example: A quilt top is 60 inches x 80 inches. 60 x 80 = 4800 x .02 = $96.

My minimum quilting charge is $50. This means that a small quilt or table runner's square inch price will be rounded up to the $50 minimum.

Batting

Batting quality is ESSENTIAL to your quilt.

You may bring your own high quality batting or I can provide it for you. I reserve the right to refuse suspicious batting (stinky, stained, irregular loft or poor quality).

I stock batting in Hobbs 80/20 cotton/poly blend, Warm and Natural 100% cotton and Quilters Dream Select in Cotton and 80/20. I can special order black, bleached, Wool, Bamboo, polyester and Annie's Soft N Stable with an extra wait time for delivery and based on availability. Please contact me, I'm happy to help you get the batting you want.

Batting is a separate charge and is NOT included in the square inch price.

I charge for batting by the linear inch from queen rolls of batting except in the case of special orders.  I will use only what is needed for your quilt (smallest side + a 8" margin) and charge per inch.

For example, if you have a 60" x 80" quilt, I would cut 68" of the batting of your choice.
68" of Warm and Natural 100% cotton @ $0.42/in = $28.56
68" of Hobbs 80/20 cotton/poly blend @ $0.28/in = $19.04

Thread

I stock InnovaTech 40 wt. poly wrapped poly.
I prefer to use the same color on top as on the back to prevent the darker color from peeking through. But this is YOUR quilt!

I charge $1 per bobbin used for thread. A typical throw size quilt uses 5 bobbins. If you prefer your quilting to be denser, more bobbins may be used.

5 bobbins used = $5 thread charge.

Shipping

IMG_3043.JPEG

I live in Northern Utah County, USA.

I would be happy to receive your top and backing by mail if local pickup is not possible. I'd recommend sending your materials enclosed in some kind of waterproof bag to protect against possible moisture in transit and then placed in a hard-sided cardboard box. Make sure the box is securely taped and labeled clearly.

Please note: Quilts enter my queue in the order that I receive them.

Return shipping: I will send your quilt back to you in the manner described above via USPS Priority mail (using flat rate when possible/economical). Priority mail comes with $100 of insurance and a tracking number but please indicate on your intake form if you would like me to buy any additional insurance on your behalf. It's a great idea to insure your valuables against loss or damage while with the Postal Service, but I don't require it.

Other Costs

Quilts will be trimmed by request only.

Holes, tears, really wavy borders or any work I have to do to make your quilt "longarmable," including making the backing 8 inches bigger, will be done at the rate of $25/hour. I'll contact you first and give you the option to repair it yourself if needed.

As mentioned above, batting is not included in the square inch price. I'm required by the State of Utah to collect sales tax on the physical materials I provide (batting and thread). Quilting services are not taxed.

Payment

After the work is complete, I will invoice you. I prefer payment through Venmo but am happy to take a check or cash.

I really do appreciate timely payments as that enables me to return your project(s) to you right away.
